Tallmadge residents are getting a new option for their natural gas service.

The City of Tallmadge has partnered with Eastern Power & Gas (Eastern PNG), a new supplier in Ohio, to provide natural gas services to the city. Participants in the natural gas aggregation program will be charged a fixed rate of $3.85/Mcf.

This rate will last 24 months, starting in November 2024 (December 2024 billing cycle) and running through October 2026 (November 2026 billing cycle).

“The City of Tallmadge is pleased to offer residents and small businesses a low, long-term fixed rate of $3.85 per Mcf for natural gas, locking in these savings before rates increase,” Mayor Carol Siciliano-Kilway said. “The rate is competitive and ensures price protection for a 24-month period.”

Eligible residents and small businesses will be automatically enrolled. Letters were mailed with the option to opt out; those who did not receive a letter and are interested in getting their natural gas from Eastern PNG can call toll-free at 877-799-3637, email customerservice@easternpng.com, or sign up online at easternpng.com/tallmadge. Customers can join or opt out of the program at any time without an early termination fee.

“We are honored to provide Tallmadge with price certainty and the same effortless experience we offer all customers,” Joe Jajati, president of Eastern PNG, said. “We look forward to supplying natural gas to the city of Tallmadge and welcome them to the program.”

The city’s current program with Constellation Energy expired in October (November billing cycle). Customers who are not enrolled with Eastern PNG via auto enrollment, new enrollment or enrolled with another supplier will be transferred to Enbridge Gas Ohio and assigned a random supplier within two billing cycles.

Enbridge Gas Ohio will remain responsible for ensuring the distribution of natural gas to both residential and commercial premises and continue to maintain the meter, monthly reads and pipelines that deliver natural gas. All natural gas bills will continue to come from Enbridge Gas Ohio.
